Event description The 2021 Prize submission deadline is June 1, 2021, supported by The Better Angels Society and the Crimson Lion/Lavine Family Foundation, recognizes Exemplary Accomplishment in Historical Documentaries. The 2021 Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film is officially open for submissions!

This annual national prize, now in its 3rd year, is designed to provide finishing funds, including outreach and marketing, for feature-length documentaries about American history.

 Save the date: 14th Annual DAY OF BLACK DOCS

The 14th annual DAY OF BLACK DOCS will be a virtual event from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021. The daylong event will include screenings, panel discussions, Q & A with filmmakers as well as a virtual after party. Tickets are $15.

  • Tickets for the entire day's event are $15.00 and can be purchased at dayofblackdocs.org.
  • Early Bird tickets are available April 23 -April 30, 2021. $2 off the regular price of admission. Quantity is limited.
  • RSVP first. Then purchase tickets via Eventbrite. Tickets must be purchased individually (one ticket per order).
  • The Day of Black Docs screening link will be emailed to all ticket holders the morning of the event, Saturday, May 22, 2021. Monitor your emails.
